Assist Services has an immediate opening for a Human Resources Coordinator. This position will provide personal growth and the ability to develop your skills in the traffic, construction, and oil & gas industry. Experience:
1+ year of experience in a Human Resources role is preferred. It is beneficial for applicants to have knowledge of the oil & gas industry and/or transportation sector. All candidates for this position must have at minimum high school diploma with the motivation to learn and overcome daily challenges.
Requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent required, associate degree preferred
· Knowledge of traffic control, flagging, and oil & gas industry a plus
· Basic knowledge in using Microsoft Office
· Possess effective interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to management and employees
· Effective verbal and written communication skills
· Positive attitude and the ability to be empathetic and flexible
· Computer/Social Media skills required, experience with writing and posting on multiple job boards
· Ability to work in a fast paced culture while remaining focused
· Ability to multi-task, plan work activities proactively, and complete daily tasks or meet deadlines under pressure
· Must have a valid Drivers License with clean driving record (NO DUI’s or excessive points).
· All candidates must be able to pass a standard criminal background check and work verification check as well as a standard drug screen and fit for duty physical.
Daily Job Duties to Include:
· Maintain various spreadsheets to track applicants, employees, raises, referrals, Company Reimbursements, etc.
· Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to HR Manager
· Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records
· Conducts or assists with new hire orientation at multiple locations and States (Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania)
· Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events
· Reviews applications for entry-level positions; scheduling and conducting preliminary interviews
· Communicate effectively and efficiently with HR and operations teams on the status of hiring
· Maintain job postings on multiple job boards and utilize social media to advertise hiring events
· Performs administrative and recordkeeping tasks related to staffing changes, which may include layoffs, resignations, terminations, and extended leaves of absence
· Assists with the administration of employee benefits, which may include collecting and submitting employee information and notice of change in status to health, dental, life, vision, and other insurance carriers or insurance brokers
· Initiates background screening efforts with new employees and reviews background reports once completed for compliance with company policies
· Updates HR spreadsheets with employee change requests, company benefits and processes paperwork.
· Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
· Assists HR Manager with various research projects and/or special projects
· Schedules conferences by reserving facilities at event centers, hotels and/or restaurants
· Prepares new employee files, makes photocopies, faxes documents and performs other clerical functions
· Performs other duties as assigned
